We have made special arrangements with Adam Gregory, owner of my local watering hole, the Timberwood Grill, to screen all World Cup matches including all the 10am starts. Thanks to Adam they will open up the bar earlier in the day so we don’t get to miss any of the action. I can’t think of a better morning to be honest. A beer, some quality food and a bit of footy. I’ll take it !
There are a bunch of games that are 7:30am starters, so naturally Timberwood will be screening repeats.
For all games that are double headers, we have arranged for another area of the bar to open so both games can be screened at the same time with full volume (a good example of this is on June 23rd where the US plays Algeria and England plays Solvenia, both at 10am)

I have made special arrangements with Charlie (the other one) who is the head chef at the Timberwood Grill to put together a special menu during England Games for the Brits who might be missing a bit of good old fashioned English grub
I’m helping them get some classic original brands together such as Heinz Beans, original recipe batter for Fish, Original English Chip Shop recipe for chips and (of course) HP Sauce.

Before I start let me just reiterate that I am not a member of staff, or affiliated in any way with The Timberwood Grill on any kind of professional basis. I am simply a local patron who happens to be a Brit and I have hunted high and low for a place to call my local. This is it.
The Timberwood Grill in is, in my opinion, the best place in Charlottesville to watch the World Cup games this Summer.
Not only do they have a fantastic selection of beers and specialty ales, an eclectic menu and half a dozen huge screen TV’s, but there is also an amazing array of staff and customers that I have come to call my friends. The atmosphere is superb and you can be sure of a great time.
